Chris Sherwin created a stunning Wildflower Meadow on the Rec in the summer of 2016. We were amazed by the variety of plants and flowers growing in harmony on this small area of the Rec, some of which grew to almost shoulder height.
With the help of local children, Chris created the highlight of the area, the Bug Hotel. Constructed from old pallets and boxes, corrugated cardboard, carpet, bamboo and wood offcuts, this bug hotel became home to many many creepy crawlies!
The first event on 11th June was extremely popular, and in the following weeks we welcomed local primary school groups, all keen to name particular plants and play ‘spot the bees’ in the Bee Bingo game with Geraldine and Philip!
